Valheim can satisfy 10 challenge templates: 4 written specifically for Valheim, plus 6 shared with other Survival, Sandbox and Co-op titles. A template is only used when Valheim has the content it needs, which is why you never get a “win with a random weapon” run in a game with no weapon list.
Blanks in a template are filled from Valheim's own library: 33 Weapons, 7 Forsaken Bosses, 9 Biomes and 6 Modes. Difficulty scales the restriction rather than the wording: easy asks for one clean objective, medium and hard lock you out of your comfort picks, and insane stacks no-hit, no-heal and single-item rules on top. Valheim's pool holds 4 medium, 4 hard and 2 insane templates. Between the templates and the content they draw from, the generator can build 370+ distinct Valheim challenges.
